An oval green stone sits inside a double pave halo, with a crown of rose-cut clear stones arching over the top and an open gold lattice fanning out below. The shape is closer to a small brooch than a plain stud, and it fills the lobe from top to bottom.
The lower fan is cut jaali work, thin gold bars left open so the skin shows through and the weight stays manageable. The crown stones step down in size from the centre outwards, which is what gives the piece its tapered outline.
